It's February. Valentine's Day brings traditional thoughts of love, relationship, compassion... time to write my "begging" letter! And the ride season officially begins.
By the time you read this I'll have actually written that letter and while it may appear to be the start of yet another year of pedaling and peddling, my last ride season never really ended. After last year's ride I took exactly 2 weeks off while my bike was in transit from NY. Aside from the week it took to do laundry, I was a total slacker. Then I went back to the gym.
Let's face it, I'm entirely too old to keep doing these 500+ mile bike rides without training year-round. Thank goodness for my California gym buddies who keep me motivated and inspired to drag my butt out of bed 4 days a week for spin class and weight training (CFU!).
The off-season was also a great time to strategize with our beneficiary and we have GREAT things in store for 2008 but that's a story for another time. I have an early gym date...

Congrats on the blog -- it really looks great and I look forward to reading all the updates! I don't think I'm going to be able to do the ride again this year, but saving the date of August 16 to welcome you to NY!!
Good luck!!
There wouldn't be a blog if you hadn't shown me the way. Thanks, Cindy!! Will miss riding with you this year but look forward to seeing your smiling (clean & fresh) face at the finish line!
